Message Here is one of my pipes from the "bad run" of downpipes at specailtyZ the welds on the bottom were still totally intact:

So, with my (extremely limited expirence) I would say you will be fine (on the collector side), but you might ask greg about adding tack welds to outside of the top (split side) flange before you install them. He's really good about doing anything he can to help out his customers, I can't speak for him but it couldn't hurt to ask.

While here is what the rest of it looked like....
The other down pipe wasn't nearly as seperated but my exhaust leak is obvious.

This was literally the moment we discovered where my mysterious exhaust leak was coming from.

As I said earlier, I didn't post this stuff earlier as it would have been in bad taste since the bad run of downpipes was already a known issue, and the problems seems to have been addressed in the current product (no reported failure yet on super splits).

On top of that Greg offered a free repair and refrubish of these downpipes with the tack welds added. What more can you really ask? Of couse everyone would have prefered never to have had the bad run, but the way a vendor deals with such a situation speaks miles for them. Greg understands the investment you make on some of his products is substantial, and he stands behind them accordingly. As of now I am still a satisfied SpecialtyZ customer and wold recommend them. (The reason aliaZ above has a brand new set of "stainless" super split downpipes on his desk - bought via Coz at full price.)
